The lowest IIc+ s/n I've seen is 12376... I'm looking at it right now. And, nope, it's definitely not a Coli! :D

Re: Mark Series Serial Numbers

2C) The last II-C (5/83 to 2/84) that I have seen are: - 12/83 with s/n 11994 - 2/84 with s/n 12376 2D) The last Mark IIC+ (2/84 to 4/85) Boogiebabies/Ed has documented is s/n 14,36x (and there is an odd s/n 15,000, according to Boogiewan Kenobi/Ian). Actually, s/n 12376 is an early IIc+. I could t...

When did Mesa start using the current fixed bias settings?

Pun intended with the "current" in the subject! 8) Seriously, tho'... I'm sure I read somewhere that the Mk I and IIa (and possibly later Mk IIs...) use different fixed bias values than later models, meaning that the "Mesa range", either with power tubes sold by Mesa or those of other suppliers, are...

Very tasty, Gary! I'm assuming you're the Gary in the band name...

What settings did you use on the IIc+?

Recommended graphic EQ to run in loop without tone suck?

I suppose this could be posted in the "Effects" section, but I wanted to zero in on a specific application. I have a IIc+ on the way, without GEQ, and I'd like to hear about others' experience running an EQ in the loop. Are there any that do a decent job emulating Mesa's onboard GEQ, or just any uni...

Re: Alice in Chains tone using markV head and cab...

The blue glow (plasma) is normal... at least with 6L6s. Strangely, I've never seen it with EL34s!

Are you saying it wasn't ever there before you were swapping back'n'forth without changing the bias switch?

Re: What is your ideal Mesa/ What should Mesa do next?

Regroup the modes on the Mk V so they actually make sense, unlike the current model. The biggest reason I got rid of mine was that the modes weren't where they need to be... grouped by function , as opposed to amount-of-gain, which is how they're grouped now. Basically, Tweed and Mk I belong on Chan...

Re: Do I need new frets on my Les Paul?

Those are the standard late '70s version of 'fretless wonder' frets, similar to Dunlop 6130s. I love 'em... but then, the first electric I ever owned was a '78 Les Paul Standard... which I still have. I also love vintage Fender style frets (6230s)... I can play guitars with giant railroad-...

One clarification: L&R combined is only 120 watts... two different speakers in parallel have a power rating twice that of the lower wattage speaker.

There's a partial archive on archive.org's Wayback Machine (love that name!)

http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http:/ ... lcome.html

The April 13 version seems to be the most complete... the blue dot on that date if you've never used the Wayback Machine before.
